Sam Altman is fired!

OpenAI is in danger. X(Twitter) launches job search and what not!

(Total read time: 5 minutes)

Good morning folks! It’s 6 on the clock in the morning and we’re here to get you started with your day. We hope you had an amazing week! Grab a quick cup of coffee because we have some cool news for you. Letsgooo🔥

OpenAI's board has fired Sam Altman!😳

Chief technology officer Mira Murati is appointed interim CEO to lead OpenAI and Sam Altman departs the company.
His departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.

This might come as a shock but this isn’t the first time that the CEO is fired. We saw the same happening at Uber and Apple too. Personally, I don’t really like this. I mean who does? One makes the company just to get fired by the board? Let us know what you think about this.

Search for jobs on X(Twitter)📈

LinkedIn has a competition now!

X (formerly Twitter) has opened up its LinkedIn-like job search tool for all users on the web, with iOS and Android versions expected soon. The platform features job listings from various tech companies, including Elon Musk's own ventures. However, users must visit third-party websites to complete applications. X has hinted at more advanced job-finding features and potential recruiting options in the future.

Talk with your code repositories.

SolidGPT is a GitHub repository that enables AI-assisted interactions with code in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript projects. By scanning and learning code repositories, it provides coding advice, plans, and generates requirement documents. Developers may find this tool helpful for streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity while chatting with their code repository within a user-friendly UI.

This is a part of this week’s newsletter because it felt useful and fun. So, adding value in a fun way is our one and only motive.😁

Will you ever choose a self-driving car as your cab?

Uber has partnered with Alphabet-owned Waymo to offer fully autonomous rides in Phoenix, the largest fully autonomous service area globally. Customers can opt for self-driving vehicles when booking UberX, Uber Comfort, and other select services within Waymo's operating territory. The autonomous rides are priced the same as traditional car rides, and a 24/7 helpline is available for passengers in Waymo cars.

Okay! This sounds futuristic, cool, and fun but but but! What if the car stops working? What if I get stuck inside the car? What if the car takes me somewhere else?😬

Threads app hits 100 million monthly users!

Meta's Threads app has garnered nearly 100 million monthly users since its July launch, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during the company's earnings call. Zuckerberg expressed satisfaction with the app's trajectory and plans to focus on community growth. The platform is aiming to compete with Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter) super app by offering a more positive public conversation experience.

Well, I have so many thoughts right now. Why do Threads still exist? Who uses it? Why will someone even use it?
Do you use Threads? If yes, tell us why.
