How AI proof is your Job?

You probably know Generative AI right? Well surprise surprise, research conducted by our overlords at Pearson has made a list of jobs that will be most affected and least affected by the rise of Gen AI. Who would’ve thought of AI replacing our jobs right??

Here’s the list of most affected jobs:

1. Medical Secretaries (-40%)

2. Statement Clerks (-38%)

3. Billing, Cost, and Rate Clerks (-38%)

4. Loan Interviewers and Clerks (-38%)

5. Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks (-38%)

and the list of least affected jobs:

1. Chief Executives (-10%)

2. Civil Engineers (-10%)

3. Electrical Engineers (-11%)

4. Sales Managers (-13%)

5. Architectural and Engineering Managers (-13%)

So if you’re a Civil or Electrical Engineer, you’re probably in luck and you might not have to work in TCS anymore. It’ll be more beneficial if you somehow become a Chief Executive.

AMD set up its semiconductor design center in India.

Semiconductor giant AMD has inaugurated its largest global design centre in Bengaluru which will employ about 3000 engineers. Earlier this year, Micron announced setting up an assembly, testing, and packaging plant in Gujarat. These moves position India across the semiconductor value chain a critical industry essential for digital devices. India's focus on chip design, backed by initiatives like Productivity-Linked Incentives and skill development, complements its aspiration to become a significant player in the semiconductor market. This is maybe the best and worst time to be in the Indian IT sector tbh.

AWS is on a Roll!!

Daddy Amazon cannot keep itself far from the AI race and jumped right in to compete head-to-head with Microsoft. on AWS re: Invent event, They made some crazy announcements that will make you not shift to Azure.

The cloud computing giant unveiled its new AWS Trainium chip for training LLMs, A chatbot for AWS called Amazon Q, Its new Titan LLM model, Neptune Analysis tool, and a bunch of other tools. If you’re also a cloud enthusiast like me then check out the new AWS features in detail as they’re very impressive. Particularly the chatbot Q.

OpenAI’s GPT store delayed until next year.

OpenAI’s GPT store will be delayed until next year, the company said in an email to people who signed up for its GPT Builder. The GPT store will be a marketplace for users of OpenAI’s GPT builders to sell and share the GPTs they’ve built.

To be fair to OpenAI, it did have a very eventful past week dealing with the ouster of CEO Sam Altman, the open revolt of hundreds of its employees, the exodus and heart emoji social media campaign of its senior executives, the welcoming of a new CEO, and the eventual reinstatement of Altman as its leader.
