ChatGPT can replace google assistant on android phones😋

The ChatGPT app recently added an "assistant" activity in its Android code that could allow it to replace the default Google Assistant. While still incomplete, this suggests OpenAI aims to set ChatGPT as the default voice assistant on Android phones.

Google is working to enhance its Assistant with generative AI like OpenAI's Bard model. Apple is also upgrading Siri for iOS 18 with more AI capabilities. Top chatbots like ChatGPT and Microsoft's Copilot now offer more advanced conversations than phone assistants and can access real-time web data. However, free ChatGPT users cannot do this.

I’m just waiting for my darling Siri to get smarter, dumb siri, can’t even send messages on Whatsapp properly🤨

“Watch” out Apple!!👀

Apple is facing an import ban on its Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 models from the US International Trade Commission due to infringing on patents held by medical device company Masimo for pulse oximetry technology. This has led Apple to pause online sales of the affected watches starting December 21st and remove them from retail stores after December 24th. Apple is appealing the ruling and working on potential software changes to try and resolve the issue, but the ban may still take effect on December 26th unless overturned. The dispute centers around Masimo's claim that Apple incorporated its patented pulse oximetry features into the Apple Watch without permission.

GPT Store coming up next week!

OpenAI had announced plans to allow users to create customised chatbots using its technology. It had said it would launch a store next month where these user-created chatbots could be shared, sold and monetised. However, the store's launch was delayed twice, once due to leadership changes at the company. It is now set to officially open next week, with the company contacting users to finalise preparations and ensure the chatbots meet guidelines. More details on how creators may earn money from popular chatbots on the store are still to come.
